From 3 – 10 November you were invited to take a look behind the scenes of the Criminal Justice System in Wiltshire. Inside Justice Week happened throughout England and Wales – see the national website for news, features and activities for schools. Here in Wiltshire, a number of events were held for the public to take part in. There were Open Magistrate Court tours, Cell painting with Families In Focus, Information stands throughout Wiltshire and Charity sports events for staff.
In Devizes we also held our Annual Payback Conference, for the wider community and media representatives. This years theme was 'Restorative Justice' and the guest speakers were Sir Charles Pollard QPM, Chairman of the Winchester Restorative Justice Group, and ‘Restorative Solutions’ - a Community Interest Company, and Griff Daniels, Community Involvement Manager, Wiltshire Youth Offending Service, who spoke about restorative justice on national and local levels respectively.
All of these events proved to be very successful and we would like to thank everyone involved who made this week a success!
