Community Cashback fund latest: 7 projects benefit across Sussex!

Thank you to everyone who proposed projects and voted on the community voting website. Voting is now closed.

This new pilot fund is giving people a direct say in how the ill gotten gains of criminals can be used to benefit their communities in the fight against crime.

The £4 million Community Cashback scheme is being funded by money and assets seized from wealthy criminals. It allows the public to choose which worthwhile community projects are funded by feeding in their views to a new dedicated website, neighbourhood policing meetings or through Citizens’ Panels.

In Sussex, we awarded a total of £108,155 across 7 projects:

West Sussex: Positive Influence (mentoring project),Spurgeons LA-UK (tackling anti-social behaviour) and Selsey Beach Play and Sports Zone

Brighton and Hove: Albion in the Community (tackling anti-social behaviour)

East Sussex: The Beat (youth project and now developing garden facilities), Piddinghoe Skate Park and Bushey Wood Scouts (Climbing Wall project)
