POCA

The Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 (POCA) was enacted to enable the confiscation of assets from persons who benefit from the proceeds of their criminal conduct. The Act also allows the law enforcement agencies to investigate and act to: recover cash, property and other assets, which have been obtained through unlawful conduct or which is intended to be used in unlawful conduct, and to tackle money-laundering operations. Locally POCA is driven by the Suffolk Criminal Justice Board, which brings together all the criminal justice agencies, including the Police Specialist Finacial Investigators, Crown Prosecution Service, specialist lawyers and HM court Services.

This section will allow you to see what we are doing here in Suffolk in regards to POCA. How POCA is used and by who. On the left hand side their are a number of pages that will provide you with all the information you need to know including real life cases.
