Victim Support

The Criminal Justice agencies work with Victim Support, an independent charity providing free and confidential help to anyone affected by crime, whether or not a crime has been reported.

Victim Support helps residents cope with the effects of crime. The volunteers working at Victim Support do this by providing confidential support and information to victims of crime and to witnesses attending local courts.

All of Victim Support's services are free, independent of the police and courts, and available to everyone, whether or not the crime has been reported and regardless of when it happened.

People are referred to Victim Support by the police and other organisations, or contact the charity themselves to ask for help.

Victim Support volunteers run a Witness Service at all the criminal courts in Suffolk. These trained volunteers provide emotional support and practical information about court proceedings and will be there on the day.
