Intermediaries for vulnerable witnesses

Here in Suffolk, we have introduced the use of witness intermediaries who will help vulnerable witnesses communicate more complete, more accurate and more coherent evidence in court, leading to better evidence and better justice.

Witness Charter

With witnesses at the heart of the criminal justice system, Suffolk has introduced the Witness Charter, a new set of standards for services provided to witnesses of crime across the county.

It has been developed to inform witnesses of how they can expect to be treated by the Police and subsequently by other criminal justice agencies and lawyers if asked to give evidence for the prosecution or defence in a criminal court.
