Justice Awards 2007

The 2007 Justice Awards ceremony for Staffordshire took place on 5 November in Lichfield - paying tribute and allowing invited friends, family and work colleagues/bosses to celebrate the success of local winners.

The local Justice Awards for Staffordshire is part of a national scheme that recognises excellence in the Criminal Justice System.  In its fourth year, it gave staff and volunteers the opportunity to nominate colleagues and teams to help them receive the recognition they deserve for their achievements - those who ‘went the extra mile’ in their work with victims, witnesses, defendants or offenders.

In 2007 there were sixteen award categories for individuals and teams, including a new category for Volunteer of the Year, winners were chosen by the Chief Officers from the seven Criminal Justice Agencies in Staffordshire.  The awards were presented by Chris Sims, Chief Constable, Staffordshire Police and Chairman of the Staffordshire Criminal Justice Board and Peter Lewis, Chief Executive, Crown Prosecution Service and Sponsor of Staffordshire Criminal Justice Board.

The Justice Awards was part of Inside Justice Week where the Criminal Justice System was opened up to the public to show how justice is done.  The fourth Inside Justice week in Staffordshire has been the best ever with nearly three thousand people attending 17 events across nine different venues.  Nominations for the Justice Awards have increased three fold and come from frontline staff.
