About the South Yorkshire Criminal Justice Board
The board was set up in April 2003 to oversee the criminal justice system (CJS) in South Yorkshire, and consists of members from the following criminal justice agencies: the police, the crown prosecution service (CPS), the courts, probation, prisons and youth offending teams (YOTs).
Crime affects all communities, therefore it is essential that you, the people we serve, know who we are and what we are doing for you and your community.
The criminal justice agencies in South Yorkshire are there to support your communities and make them safer places by working together in partnership to reduce crime, improve justice, respond better to the needs of victims and witnesses and to punish and rehabilitate more offenders.
Throughout this web site you will find information about the challenges we face, how we are overcoming obstacles, how you can help us do better and how you can get in touch with us.
Please give us your views on this web site and any other criminal justice matter that concerns you or your community.
