HMP NOTTINGHAM HAVE PRISON OFFICER OF THE YEAR!

Prison Officer of the Year 2009 announced has been announced Senior Officer Dom Chapman of HMP Nottingham is Prison Officer of the Year 2009, it was announced at this year’s annual awards ceremony on Thursday 25 June.
Dom, who also won the Safer Custody category, clinched the title for her outstanding work as Violence Reduction Co-ordinator at her establishment.
Director General Phil Wheatley presented the award and said: "I am absolutely delighted that Dom Chapman has won the Prison Officer of the Year Award. Her work has been of the highest quality and has helped both staff and prisoners to work and live in a safer environment.
“It is a real example of how a truly committed and determined person can really make a difference."
Just after collecting her award Dom said: “I’m chuffed to bits. It was great to win my category and I didn’t expect to get the overall prize at all. It’s amazing, I’m really pleased.”

Working with Young People: Justin Colman, Senior Care Manager – HMP & YOI Ashfield
Diversity: Sarah Wilson, Principal Officer – HMP Holme House
Lifetime Achievement: Michael Cassidy, Principal Officer – HMP & YOI Low Newton
