The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS)
The CPS is responsible for reviewing prosecution files sent by the police to decide whether or not a case should proceed, and what the correct charge should be. It is also responsible for preparing cases and prosecuting them at court.

HM Courts Service's purpose is to deliver justice efficiently and effectively. It administers the civil, family and criminal courts covering Crown, county and magistrates' courts.

The Prison Service is responsible for the detention of those offenders sentenced to serve jail sentences. They are charged with taking care of these prisoners, treating them with respect, and helping them to stop their criminal behaviour.

The Youth Justice Board
The Youth Justice Board is a body which works to reduce youth offending nationally. It is supported locally by Youth Offending Teams. It also includes youth courts and youth custody centres.

Crimestoppers
Crimestoppers is the only UK charity which helps solve crime, and retains the anonymity of callers. The Northamptonshire Crimestoppers Board draws together key people from business, media and the community to lead and develop the work of Crimestoppers specifically in this county.- In Northamptonshire, Crimestoppers has helped lead to the arrest of more than 250 people in the county since the charity was established 17 years ago
- Between April and August 2005, more than 150 people called Crimestoppers to pass on information about crime or criminals in Northamptonshire. A number of these calls provided such good information that, coupled with investigative police work, they led to six separate arrests for drug and other offences, and the recovery of drugs, firearms and bladed weapons.

Community Payback
The national Community Payback campaign gives the public the opportunity to have their say on how offenders should pay back communities for the harm they have caused.
