Dyfed Foulkes : Area Director, Her Majesty's Courts Service, North and West Yorkshire
Prior to his appointment as Area Director for the Humber Area in 2004, Dyfed was, from 1996, Clerk to the Justices for the Petty Sessional Area of Kingston- upon-Hull and South and Middle Holderness. Qualifying with a law degree in 1985, he proceeded to undertake the Bar Vocational Course, and qualified as a barrister in 1986. He is a member of Gray’s Inn. Dyfed was a barrister in private practice in Chester from 1986 to 1991. He was appointed as Justices’ Clerk for Anglesey in 1991.
He and his family moved to East Yorkshire in 1996 when he took up appointment as Justices’ Clerk for Kingston upon Hull.
Dyfed is responsible for the strategic management of the Area,and is accountable officer for the budget .
Xanthe Tait : Chief Crown Prosecutor, Crown Prosecution Service
Xanthe read English and History and was awarded a BA(Hons) before completing the Post-graduate Diploma in Law (CPE) and Legal Practice Course with the College of Law. Xanthe trained in private practice in Portsmouth and then joined the Crown Prosecution Service as a C1 and newly qualified Solicitor on 12th January 2004. Xanthe joined the North Yorkshire senior management team as a DCP in April 2007. In December 2008, Xanthe transferred to Durham where she led the South Durham team until taking up temporary promotion as Chief Crown Prosecutor back in CPS North Yorkshire in March 2010.
Lesley Ingleson : Manager, North Yorkshire Youth Offending Team
Lesley was appointed as YOT Manager at the start of 2006. Lesley qualified as a social worker in 1983 and worked as both a generic and child care social worker until 1989 when she was appointed as Specialist Officer (Juveniles).
Prior to her appointment as YOT Manager, Lesley held a number of managerial posts in Childrens Social Care in North Yorkshire.
Simon Page : Manager, City of York Youth Offending Team
Simon Page joined the City of York Council in June 2006 as Head of Youth Offending Services. Prior to this he worked for the Youth Justice Board in a roving consultancy role and was an operational manager for Bradford Youth Offending Team for five years. Until moving into Youth Justice work Simon had worked as a Probation Officer and Senior Probation Officer in West Yorkshire since 1979 including a formative experience working on the then young offenders wing of HMP Armley.
Simon is committed to the development of a wider range of restorative justice services, knowing it to be powerful in its impact.
Pete Brown : Chief Executive, York and North Yorkshire Probation Trust
Prior to working in the Probation Service, Pete was employed by Merseyside County Councilas a trainee accountant and by Stonham Housing Association as a Deputy Hostel Warden. He joined South East London Probation Service in 1980 as a Probation Officer before moving north to work in Humberside in 1984. Pete became an Assistant Chief Officer in Humberside in 1999 and worked in both operational and support team roles. He became Chief Officer in Northamptonshire in April 2005, moving to his current post in October 2006. Pete was educated in Liverpool and has an Honours degree in Modern History and Politics. He obtained his Certificate in Qualification for Social Work from University College, Cardiff in 1980. He also has a Diploma in Criminal Justice Management from Hull University.

Norman Griffin : Governor, HM Prison Service, HMYOI Northallerton
Norman joined the Prison Service as a Prison Officer in 1982. During his service with HMPS, Norman has worked in High Security, Category C, Young Offenders establishments and Prison Service Headquarters where he had responsibility for managing the performance of establishments holding young people (15-17 yr old). Norman was appointed Governor of HMYOI Northallerton in May 2006 following a successful period as Deputy Governor at HMP Wealstun.
Tim Madgwick : Assistant Chief Constable,North Yorkshire Police
Tim Madgwick joined North Yorkshire Police in 1988 at the age of thirty, after careers in both education and private business. He served in York as a Constable, Sergeant and Inspector. In this latter role he was in charge of the City Centre and played a significant role in North Yorkshire Police's response to the major flooding that affected the city in 2000. He was promoted to Chief Inspector in 2002 and became District Commander for the Hambleton area, based in Northallerton.In July 2003 he was promoted to the rank of Superintendent and took charge of the Complaints & Professional Standards Department. Tim took over as Area Commander for the York and Selby districts after his promotion to Chief Superintendent. Between November 2008 and February 2009 Tim attended and successfully completed the National Strategic Command Course at Bramshill. He returned to the force to take up his current role as Acting Assistant Chief Constable with the portfolio for Futures. He is responsible for delivering the force's current change programme "Next Steps to 2012"
Nigel Hutchinson : Chief Fire Officer / Chief Executive North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service
Nigel has been Chief Fire Officer and Chief Executive of North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service since April 2005 having served in the position of Deputy Chief Fire Officer and Director of Community Safety & Service Delivery since June 2002. Nigel’s fire service career began in West Yorkshire in 1983 where he served in a variety of roles including operations, fire safety and training, holding senior management positions since 1997. Whilst serving in North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service he has been instrumental in aligning the organisation to be more community facing, including working closely with partner agencies and other bodies for the purpose of improving community safety and wellbeing.
In 2007 Nigel was elected to the position of Vice-Chair of the York and North Yorkshire Safer Communities Forum, a multi agency partnership which brings together the statutory and non-statutory agencies, including the voluntary sector and the 8 CDRPs. Following a short period as interim Chair, he was elected to the position of Chair of the Forum in February 2008.

Julie Young: Regional Manager Vicitm Support Yorkshire and Humber
Julie Young was appointed Regional Manager for Victim Support’s Yorkshire and Humber Region on 1st October 2007, following several years as Chief Executive of Victim Support Lancashire. The charity supports victims of crime and witnesses attending court to give evidence in criminal trials, and Julie has over 24 years experience as a practitioner with Victim Support. She represented the charity on the Lancashire Criminal Justice Board, and has served on a number of committees for the charity at both local and national level.Prior to starting a family,Julie worked for the Inland Revenue.She holds a number of management qualifications obtained during her career,icluding a professional Diploma on Managing in the Community awarded by Leeds Metropolitan University.
Her links with Yorkshire and the Humber go deep-Julie was born in Hull and grew up with relatives living in Grimsby,Scunthorpe and Scarborough.She still has several relatives living in the region.
