What is the Norfolk Criminal Justice Board?
The Norfolk CJB is made up of Chief Officers from the following agencies:
- Norfolk Constabulary
- Crown Prosecution Service,
- HM Courts Service
- HM Prison Service
- National Probation Service
- Youth Offending Team
The Board was established in 2003 to transform the way the Criminal Justice System (CJS) works.
It meets regularly to look at how the system can improve the way it catches, convicts and rehabilitates criminals in Norfolk and also looks at how to improve public
confidence in the CJS and ensure people feel confident in coming forward and reporting crime.
One ongoing priority is the protection and care of victims and witnesses.
