Criminal Justice Breakfast Jan '09
Norfolk Criminal Justice Board (NCJB) held its second breakfast networking event at the East of England Production and Innovation Centre – or EPIC for short – in Norwich on Thursday January 29th. More than 50 representatives from the criminal justice world and the county’s media organisations met over coffee and a buffet breakfast.
The event was organised by the NCJB’s Communications Officer, Jayne Evans, who introduced the two guest speakers. Martin Graham, Chief Officer from the Norfolk Probation Area, and Nikki O’Donnell, News Editor of BBC Look East, gave short presentations about the work of their respective organisations.
NCJB member, Paul Baker, who is Governor of Norwich Prison said:
“ I thought the event was a great success. It was informative and useful and more importantly for me I was able to make a couple of good contacts and get some business done in the margins of the event. “
Anne Campbell, Director of Communications at Norfolk Constabulary said:
“It was a great event and a good opportunity to ‘plug in’ to the wider criminal justice world.”
Lucy Bolton, Crime Reporter for the Norwich Evening News said:
“It was a great opportunity to talk and access people in areas and departments that are not usually visible to the media or accessible. Particularly probation and the YOT. Also good for chatting and talking about features and future stories. A great motivator.”
The next NCJB Criminal Justice Breakfast is planned for May 09 and will be held at the studios of ITV Anglia in Norwich.
