Victims and witnesses

Crime can affect people in many different ways. Often people are surprised at how emotional they feel as a victim of crime. Witnesses also play a vital role in helping the police to solve crimes and deliver justice. The criminal justice system (CJS) cannot work without them.
The London Criminal Justice Partnership (CJP) is working with agencies across the criminal justice service to ensure that victims and witnesses receive seamless and professional service and support throughout the justice process.
We want to ensure that victims and witnesses are not afraid to come forward. It is important that they feel safe and informed throughout the justice process and most importantly, they feel valued, supported and listened to.
