NATIONAL PROBATION SERVICE - LINCOLNSHIRE

Employing 250 staff and managing around 2500 adult offenders, we are committed to protecting the public, reducing the risk of re-offending and the rehabilitation of offenders.

NATIONAL PROBATION SERVICE LINCOLNSHIRE

The Probation Service, which, together with Her Majesty’s Prison Service forms the National Offender Management Service, an agency of the Ministry of Justice, is the law enforcement agency which supervises adult offenders in the community and throughout custodial sentences.

We work closely with criminal justice and other statutory agencies, local authorities and voluntary, independent and private sector partners to protect the public by providing punishment and rehabilitation services for offenders. We aim to ensure that they are aware of the effect of their crimes, in order to reduce the likelihood of their reoffending, thereby reducing the risk of harm to individuals. We also have statutory responsibilities in relation to contact with victims of serious violent offences.

One of the largest geographical probation areas in the country, Lincolnshire has an excellent track record of being one of the top-performing Probation Boards in England and Wales. This has recently been recognised by its successful application to become a self-governing Trust from April 2010.

Trust status will herald a new era and a new organisation. We are looking forward to meeting the challenge of reducing reoffending and increasing the confidence of the communities we serve by providing the right services to the right offenders, at the right time and place, whilst achieving best value for money.
