Delivering excellence. Building confidence

The Leicestershire and Rutland Criminal Justice Board brings together the heads of all the Criminal Justice agencies, including the Probation Service, Her Majesty's Prison Service (HMPS), the Police, Her Majesty's Court Service (HMCS), the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), Youth Offending Service (YOS), Legal Services Commission (LSC), Victim Support Leicestershire and Rutland and the Racial Equality Council.

Local Criminal Justice Boards (LCJBs) were set up in 2003 to encourage Criminal Justice agencies to work more closely together. The Boards are directly responsible to the National Criminal Justice Board (NCJB) for the local delivery of national targets set by the government.  During its lifetime the Board has witnessed major changes in the criminal justice system and we are working constantly to achieve newly set targets as well as improve on existing ones.
The Leicestershire and Rutland Criminal Justice Board is committed to delivering excellence and building confidence in the local criminal justice system.
