What is the Lancashire Criminal Justice Board (LCJB)?
The LCJB consists of chief officers from all the criminal justice agencies in Lancashire - the Police, Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), Courts, Probation and Prison services, Lancashire Youth Offending Team (LYOT) and Victim Support Lancashire.Why is the LCJB important?
The LCJB is responsible for improving the delivery of justice and increasing public confidence. The focus is on:- Increasing the number of offences brought to justice, especially serious offences
- Dealing efficiently and effectively with young offenders
- Increasing the number of trials that go ahead on the day they should and speeding up the court process, and
- Improving the support and care provided to victims and witnesses.
