Meet your Magistrates

Lancashire’s Magistrates are stepping up their efforts to get closer to their local communities, giving the public the opportunity to have more of a say in the local delivery of justice.

This new Community Engagement will see two-way discussion as Magistrates find out what the local community’s priorities and concerns are and raise awareness about what is being done to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour locally. The aim is to reduce crime, reduce the fear of crime and increase confidence that crime is being dealt with effectively.

By better involving local communities, the public can have more of an impact on reducing local crime, making life safer and better for everyone.

Magistrates will attend already established community meetings and will also hold dedicated local events.

For residents of Skelmersdale and Ormskirk, the following meetings are open for you:

  • 7 October, 9.30pm, Ormskirk Bench - Tenants & Residents Forum, West Lancs DC Council Chamber
  • 8 October, 5.00pm, Ormskirk Bench - Community Partnership Meeting, Digmoor Community Centre
  • 6 November, 6.00pm, Ormskirk Bench - Ashurst Community Partnership Meetings, Beacon Resource Centre, Inskip

For Preston Residents, why not join us on:
