Humberside Diversity Panel
What is the Diversity Panel?
- The Diversity Panel is a Criminal Justice System resource funded by the Humberside Criminal Justice Board.
- Comprised of a pool of 16 people from the community each with experience in a range of diversity issues
- Reports to six agencies - Humberside Police, National Probation Trust - Humberside, HM Courts Service, HM Prison Service, Crown Prosecution Service and Youth Offending Teams.
- Each agency has allocated 100 hours to utilise the panel members.
What is the Diversity Panel For?

The Diversity Panel is also there to promote multi-agency working and ensure equality for everyone. It works to build community links and fencourage community consultation and involvement.
What does the Diversity Panel Do?
Diversity Panel members have:
- Read and reported on agency Race Equality Schemes
- Acted as observers at interviews/training courses
- Reviewed letters sent to victims and witnesses
- Read and reported on racist incident reports
- Advised on recruitment and selection procedures
- Undertaken "Mystery Shopper" exercises
- Participated in assessments of compliance with all equalities legislation
The Diversity Panel is also involved in the work of 'True Vision', a Hate Incident reporting scheme to encourage the reporting of hate based incident and crimes.
True Vision
True Vision provides alternative methods for victims, witnesses and any other concerned person to report hate incidents and crimes to the Police. True Vision is run by Humberside Police in partnership with each of the Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnerships (CDRP) within the force.
