COMMUNITY CASHBACK - HUMBERSIDE WINNERS

“The Community Cashback fund will ensure a portion of the ill gotten gains of criminals are ploughed back into communities at a grassroots level, funding the projects that the public decide will make the most positive difference to their lives."

Alan Johnson, Home Secretary

Five publicly nominated projects in Humberside have secured funding from the Community Cashback Fund.

The funding was made available through the Government’s recently launched Community Cashback scheme, where ‘cashback’ from criminals’ seized assets, such as confiscated cash or property, has been earmarked to fund worthwhile community projects. The £4 million Community Cashback fund was announced back in May and the Local Criminal Justice Board in Humberside was invited to submit project proposals for funding up to their area maximum of £95,000.

In Humberside 47 projects were nominated and 15 were short-listed for the public to “have their say” and  one thousand responses were received from members of the public on Humberside on which projects they would like to see funded. Successful bids needed to show how the local community was involved in suggesting the project, demonstrate good value for money and be related in some way to tackling antisocial or criminal behaviour locally.

The winning projects are:

Grimsby in Bloom - Combined Courts, Town Hall Square, Grimsby - £6,000.00
