New Board Chair for Gwent Probation
John Harrhy's six years with the Gwent Probation Board expired on 24 September 2009 and has therefore had to retire as Board Chair from that date.
Phil Westwood, a current Gwent Board member who sat on the HR , Diversity and Training Committee, JNCC, Audit Committee and was Chair of the Business Development Committee, was successful in his application for the vacant position and has been appointed as Board Chair for Gwent with effect from 25 September 2009.

The Probation Association is the employers' organisation, working with and on behalf of probation boards and trusts.They are a a collective national voice, shaping and influencing opinion, policy and practice and promoting the work of probation services in the delivery of justice and community safety. The Probation Association provide support to achieve the best in local governance, employment practice, commissioning and service delivery.
