Mick Giannasi
Chief Constable of Gwent Police

Mick Giannasi joined Gwent Police in April 2005. Prior to moving to Gwent, he was Assistant Chief Constable in Merseyside where he had strategic responsibility for serious and organised crime, intelligence and specialist operations. Mick is currently involved in the work on a number of ACPO committees including the National Fingerprint Board and the Roads Policing Operations Forum. Mick has a BA (hons) degree in Business Studies and a Diploma in Applied Criminology gained from University of Cambridge. Mick became the new Chief Constable of Gwent and the Chair of the Board in September 2008.

 


 

Jane Coates
Chief Probation Officer for Gwent

Jane Coates has worked in the Probation Service as practitioner and manager since 1973 and was appointed Chief Officer of Gwent in 2001. She has been a member of the Gwent Criminal Justice Board since its inception.

 

 

 

 

Andrew Wallsgrove
Manager, Newport Youth Offending Service

Andrew began his career in the Criminal Justice system working as a Probation Officer and Manager in the West Midlands, Kent, Inner London, and Avon. He has worked as a Probation Officer and Manager within many settings and Manager of Newport Youth Offending Service since April 2000. Andrew is currently Chair of YOT Managers CYMRU an organisation which seeks to assist youth offending teams in Wales.

 

 
 

Alan Davies
Area Director, HMCS

Alan Davies worked for Marks and Spencer and the Police in Wiltshire and Cambridgeshire before becoming the Justices' Chief Executive for Gloucestershire Magistrates' Courts Committee in 2002. Following the creation of Her Majesty's Courts Service in 2005, he moved to become the Area Director for South Wales. In 2007 he became the Area Director for South East Wales. He sits on both Gwent and South Wales Criminal Justice Boards.
