The strategic aims for the GCJB are to deliver:
- an effective core criminal justice process,
- improved experience and services to victims and witnesses,
- and more effective communications and engagement with staff and the public.
The Gwent Criminal Justice Board Business Plan
In March 2009, Gwent Criminal Justice Board (GCJB) produced the 2009/10 Business Plan that sets out the objectives, priorities and how we intend on delivering the Public Service Agreements to enable a more effective and efficient joined up Criminal Justice System (CJS) in the next 12 months. The Business Plan builds on the strategic visions for the Gwent Criminal Justice Board set out in a three-year Strategic Plan 2008/11. The plan details the programme of work it will commission in the 2009/10 period towards the achievement of the Three Year Strategy.
Realising the Potential of Local Criminal Justice Boards
Realising the potential of Local Criminal Justice Boards (LCJBs) is the vision of the National Criminal Justice Board (NCJB); for LCJBs to be the leaders of change in the Criminal Justice System (CJS), driving reform to achieve continuing improvements in local services. This year will bring a major change year to how the Gwent Criminal Justice Board delivers its aims and objectives. It will bring the work of the Board closer together and enable it to manage an ongoing programme of change more effectively and efficiently. This will not affect everyday CJS business which will continue to be provided to the public of Gwent in the same manner as usual.
