Conditional Cautioning

A new way of dealing with offenders

A new method of dealing with offenders responsible for certain crimes was introduced into the county in June 2007. Conditional Cautioning was piloted within the Cotswolds and Stroud areas, before being rolled out across Glocuestershire in March 2008.

Conditional cautions are a quick and effective way of dealing with those offenders responsible for crimes such as criminal damage and public order offences which affect quality of life for residents. They give a quick outcome for victims of crime without the need for them to attend court.
