Justice is working in Gloucestershire

Gloucestershire Criminal Justice Board (GCJB) is one of 42 set up nationally with responsibility for improving the performance of the whole criminal justice system.GCJB aims to deliver real successes in the fight against crime.

Criminal Justice inter-agency working within our county is co-ordinated by the Board which works to improve collaboration between agencies, boost performance and deliver a high quality service to the public.

In Gloucestershire:

  • Crime is less than the national average
  • The risk of having your home broken into is one of the lowest in the country
  • On average, it now takes just 6 weeks in the Magistrates Court from a suspect being charged until the end of the court case
  • 95% of fines imposed by the courts are collected from offenders
