BME Staff Diagnostic Toolkit

The BME Staff Diagnostic Toolkit has been developed by County Durham and Darlington Criminal Justice Board with the assistance of the Race, Confidence and Justice Unit in London. Commencing with a series of focus groups for BME staff working in the criminal justice agencies, the toolkit was developed to include quantitative research into the recruitment, retention and progression of BME staff with a view to ascertaining whether unjustified disproportionality exists in any of the criminal justice agencies. The local pilot is due to be completed by 31st of March 2010 though the finalised toolkit is in the process of being rolled-out on a national basis. The toolkit is available to download from the right hand side of this page.
