The Justice Awards 2009

The nomination period for the 2009 Dorset Justice Awards is now open.

These awards celebrate the outstanding work that takes place within Dorset’s criminal justice system.

Every day across Dorset our staff and volunteers carry out demanding and challenging work with offenders, the community, victims and witnesses and the Dorset Justice Awards provide an excellent opportunity to recognise this work.

Categories for this year’s awards honour exceptional work carried out within Dorset criminal justice system in areas including:

  • Tackling youth crime
  • Engaging communities
  • Caring for victims and witnesses
  • Working with offenders
  • Partnership working
  • Volunteering

These awards are open to individuals and teams of staff or volunteers working within Dorset’s criminal justice system.

The nomination period closes on Friday 24 July 2009 and all nominations must be emailed to lcjb@dorset.pnn.police.uk.

All relevant nominations will also be forwarded onto the National Justice Awards competition – where Dorset has enjoyed success in recent years, picking up three national awards in just four years!National winners Jane Martin and Linda Tolman of Dorset Probation Area

These awards are predominantly for staff to recognise their criminal justice colleagues – but if you have experienced an exceptional level of service from someone working or volunteering within Dorset’s criminal justice system please feel free to nominate them for an award.

Dorset’s criminal justice system is made up of staff working within Dorset Police, the Crown Prosecution Service, HM Courts Service, Dorset Probation Area, HM Prison Service, Dorset Youth Offending Team and Bournemouth & Poole Youth Offending Team. Volunteers within organisations such as Victim Support and the Witness Service can also be nominated for awards.
