3. Increasing public confidence in the criminal justice system - what has Derbyshire Criminal Justice Board achieved so far?
- Focusing on engaging with members of staff and the community to improve people's knowledge of the criminal justice system with the aim of improving people's confidence;
- Set up a cross agency communications network to address public confidence issues;
- Worked to get better press coverage of DCJB and the CJS;
- Developed and maintained our website to provide members of the public and members of staff with up to date information and news;
- Linked in with local school’s Citizenship curriculum and working to deliver the Safer School Partnerships agenda together with key organisations;
- Participated in a number of community engagement events across the County;
- Organised several criminal justice open days at courts across the County to allow members of the public to see behind the scenes of the criminal justice system;
- Engaged and consulted with the County’s CRDPs and community groups to see how we can work better together;
- Linked our confidence target with both the City and County Local Area Agreements.
