Past heroes
Cambridgeshire's unsung heroes working in the Criminal Justice System have been recognised for their outstanding work in helping to cut crime in their communities.
The Intensive Supervision and Surveillance Programme (ISSP) Team at Cambridgeshire Youth Offending Service, Police Sergeant Dave Glover and Littlehey Prison Visitors Centre were all nominated for the prestigious Justice Awards in 2007.
The three nominees were given certificates during the launch of the Cambridgeshire Criminal Justice Board's Inside Justice Week 2007 event at Cambridge Regional College.
The certificates were presented by CCJB chair and Cambridgeshire Chief Constable Julie Spence, who said it was important to acknowledge the frontline work the recipients were doing in their communities.
Mrs Spence said: "The nominees have made an outstanding contribution to Cambridgeshire's Criminal Justice System. They provide excellent examples of how different agencies are working together to tackle crime."
Celebrating justice: Kim Szurek, of Littlehey Visitors Centre, Police Sergeant Dave Glover and
Brigitte Squire, of Cambridgeshire Youth Offending Service.
The Justice Awards is a national scheme recognising excellence in the Criminal Justice System. The awards give staff and volunteers the chance to nominate colleagues and teams and help them get the recognition they deserve for their achievements.
Although none of Cambridgeshire's nominees were shortlisted for the national finals, Mrs Spence said it's important to pay tribute to their exemplary work in slashing crime in our communities.
