FRANK, the service providing frank, honest and discreet advice about different drugs, has just celebrated its fifth birthday.
People with concerns or questions about drugs can access a wealth of information about different substances or “Talk to FRANK” confidentially online, by phone or via email.
FRANK aims to ensure that:
- Young people understand the risks and dangers of drugs and their use
- Young people know where to go for advice or help
- Parents have the confidence and knowledge to talk to their children about drugs
- Professionals who work with young people, especially vulnerable groups, are supported
Since launching in 2003, FRANK has:
- received over 739,000 telephone calls, responded to over 48,000 emails and received over 5.7 million hits to talktofrank.com
- made 36,205 referrals to treatment and services
- received over 300,000 visits to the treatment pages of talktofrank.com
