Newcomer's Guide

If you're new to Cambridgeshire, welcome to the area!

Cambridgeshire Constabulary, working in partnership with the Cambridgeshire Criminal Justice Board, has produced a 20 page Newcomer’s Guide to Policing and the Law in Cambridgeshire.

Funded nationally by a grant from the Office for Criminal Justice Reform, the guide's designed to assist a growing population of workers and visitors from overseas.

The guide has been translated into 14 languages to give crime prevention and safety advice to newcomers to the county and to offer help to crime victims who can't speak English.

It also provides useful information about the law in Britain which may be different to laws in other countries. It gives information on a number of topics, including laws governing driving, alcohol and drugs and carrying weapons.

The guide's available in English, French, Polish, Portuguese, Czech, Slovak, Russian, Romanian, Bulgarian, Lithuanian, Latvian, Arabic, Farsi, Kurdish (Sorani), Cantonese, Mandarin and Urdu.
