On the outside: Tammy's journey on the road to recovery

Tammy’s had a life few of us can even imagine. Abused as a child, she turned to booze to escape the grim reality of her adult existence. But it was getting hooked on heroin that really led to “bad stuff” happening. Tammy (not her real name) has spent the last 15 years in and out of jail, unable to see an alternative to crime. But thanks to the staff at Peterborough Prison, she’s ready to make a fresh start. She shares her story in the hope she can inspire others to turn their lives around.
