Our Aims

Bedfordshire Criminal Justice Board has seven major priorities set by the Government. Each year the Board formulates a Delivery Plan, setting targets to work towards achieving the national goals.

The National Priorities are:

  • Bring more offenders to justice
  • Target persistent young offenders
  • Target persistent offenders
  • Cut delays that lead to ineffective trials in local courts
  • Ensure enforcement of community penalty orders, fines, asset recovery of crime, court warrants and breach of release licence conditions.
  • Improve services to victims and witnesses
  • Raise public confidence in local criminal justice
