Community Cashback
Giving the public a say in how criminals' cash is spent
“The message behind Community Cashback and Community Payback is simple – the public must have a stronger voice in the criminal justice system – after all, it operates on their behalf and must have their backing.” - Louise Casey, Crime and Justice Adviser

More about Community Cashback.......
Community Cashback was a scheme in England and Wales which aimed to give local people a say in how £4million of recovered criminal assets (for example confiscated cash or property) should be spent in their communities.
Each Local Criminal Justice Board area had the potential to bid for up to £95,000 for worthy projects in the local community. Over the last few months in Avon and Somerset, members of the public have been suggesting community projects for funding. We received almost 200 submissions, and these were put up for public vote on a dedicated Community Cashback website. We received over 3,500 votes in total during a 3 week voting period. The assessment process for Community Cashback was completed in September, and the successful applications were selected and sent to the Office of Criminal Justice Reform (OCJR) for approval.
